    About Hockessin

Hockessin, Delaware, is a town in New Castle County. It is one of the fastest-growing areas in Delaware with its population tripling since 1990.

Hockessin is located to the west of Wilmington and borders Avondale, Pennsylvania. Dating back to 1688, its roots lie in mushroom and dairy farming. During the late 1980s, the push to the suburbs started and Hockessin sprung onto the map with clusters of developments. Today, housing consists primarily of single-family communities on moderate-sized lots with a scattering of the farms that remain. Several townhouses and adult-living communities are options as well.
